Two Common Problems of the Flotation Separation Process

There are lots of problems of the flotation separation process, which are mainly because it is a kind of quite complex mineral processing process. Among these problems, the most common ones are the agent dosage, air inflation amount, and the pulp density, and so on. Two common problems should be noticed a lot, which are the times of the concentration and the coarse separation and the process of the middling ore in the flotation separation process.

1. How to decide the times of the concentration and the coarse separation?

After the determination of the principle and the flow of the ore flotation process, the times of the concentration and coarse separation in the flow should be decided according to the grade of the raw ore., the required ore’s floating property, and the requirement of the concentrate’s quality.

If the raw ore’s grade is low, the required ore is good at floating, and the requirement of the concentrate’s quality is very high, the period and the times of the concentration should be prolonged. If the raw ore’s grade is high, the required ore is bad at floating, and the requirement of the concentrate’s quality is not high, the period and the times of the coarse separation should be prolonged.

2. The process of the middling ore in the flotation separation process

The so-called middling ore is the tailing from the concentration process or the froth product from the coarse separation, which needs further process. The middling ore should be processed according to its cell mass amount, the required ore’s floating property, and the requirement of the concentrate’s quality.

Because the flotation separation process is the most common used and most complex chemical mineral processing technique recently, in some cases, the index can not be met. There always be many causes, such as whether the flotation machine of a certain type can be suitable for the pulp, whether it is reasonable in the usage of the flotation agent, whether air inflation is enough or too much, and so on. All these problems should be noticed in the common operation so that a better flotation separation effect can be obtained.
